My creative passions extend beyond the boundaries of the architectural world.

Outside of university, I immerse myself in painting, rock climbing, hiking, and working part-time between a café and a pub. These activities keep me connected to people and the outdoors, while offering a welcome balance to my architectural work.

More recently, I have been exploring pottery, which has given me another outlet to experiment and create through making. I enjoy the physical and tactile nature of working with clay and have recently begun experimenting with sourcing and processing my own clay locally.

Growing up on Scotland Island, I also developed an interest in painting with natural and recycled materials collected from the surrounding bushland. I experiment with making my own painting tools, pigments and dyes from what I find. This hands-on exploration of natural materials has gradually influenced my architectural interests, particularly my curiosity towards sustainable housing, earth-built materials and designing more closely with the landscape.

A short film I made, filmed by my brother Finn, addressing the privilege of undergoing social conditioning within domesticated spaces.

I have drawn attention to these conditions by creating performative acts in a high density suburb that one would usually routinely do within a private space. Not only was this a demonstration, it was an experiment to see how the public may respond around me to these mundane rituals performed in a public environment.
