Hobbies

Outside of University, I spend my time rock climbing, painting, and working part-time in a cafe. These activities allow me to connect to the outdoor environment, offering a nice break from my studies. I paint using natural recycled materials collected from the bushland around my house where I have grown up. I make my own painting tools, pigment, and dyes, which ultimately led me towards my interest in sustainable housing and earth-built materials.

Life experience

India trip | 2023

In 2023, I participated in a two week international design studio based primarily at Amity University,

while also exploring the Golden Triangle. As a group we collaborated on proposals aimed at improving comfort and wellbeing across the campus environment while also supporting recommendations towards achieving Net Zero emissions.

Earth building program | 2024

In 2024, I attended an earth building course in Shoal haven where I completed hands on training in traditional and contemporary earth building

techniques. Collectively, we contributed to the construction of an earth built shed, gaining practical experience in material behaviour, sustainable construction methods, and application of natural materials within the built environment.

Each hospitality job I worked at, I was responsible for customer service, order taking, making coffee, preparing and seating guests. I also supported end of day operations, ensuring the venue was cleaned and reset for the following day. Collectively, these rolls strengthened my communication skills and ability to perform effectively under pressure during high volume periods.

House maintenance Lovett Bay, Pittwater | 2023-24

During university breaks, I was responsible for the maintenance and preservation of an architecturally designed residence in Lovett Bay. This role included the ongoing care of Spotted Gum timber finishes throughout the home, providing valuable firsthand insight into timber performance, ageing characteristics, and environmental responsiveness across different conditions and locations.
