Galeria Arte 132

Project Overview

Developed as part of an ARCH 202 studio assignment, this project involved the analysis and digital reconstruction of Galeria Arte132, a contemporary gallery in São Paulo designed by Piratininga Arquitetos Associados. Working in a team, we produced a series of original drawings—including plans, sections, elevations, and a structural isometric—to study the building’s spatial organization, structural system, and programmatic layout .

The project focused on adaptive reuse, examining how an existing residential structure was transformed into a gallery through strategies of material continuity and spatial reorganization. Key elements such as the original concrete structure, vaulted roof, and existing materials—including brick, wood flooring, and stone—were preserved and integrated with new interventions. Particular attention was given to the relationship between interior and exterior space, highlighting how the addition of a tropical garden and controlled natural light creates a cohesive and immersive gallery experience.
