Terrace at Highland Lakes
The Terrace at Highland Lakes is a multi-space event venue situated on the hills overlooking Lake Travis in Lago Vista, Texas. This project consisted of renovating a multi-function building that consisted of a restaurant, barber shop, and offices, into a unified destination for a single purpose. This building posed many challenges due to it's unique architecture and construction. Those challenges, along with a conservative budget, allowed me to flex my creativity in achieving the client's goals.
The Role
Led the comprehensive design, specification, procurement, and installation of all finishes, equipment, furniture, accessories, and operational supplies for the renovation, translating the project vision into a cohesive, highly curated finished environment. Strategically partnered with the general contractor to identify and prioritize high-impact design opportunities, creatively leveraging the available budget to maximize visual impact, functionality, and overall return on investment. Demonstrated cross-functional leadership by collaborating closely with multiple departments, including Catering and Floral, to reimagine and retrofit auxiliary spaces into fully functional commercial kitchens and a dedicated floral workshop. Successfully navigated complex design, operational, and logistical challenges while maintaining a clear focus on quality, efficiency, and execution. Delivered a transformative, fully operational finished product on time, within the approved budget, and to the complete satisfaction of the client, achieving exceptional results through creative problem-solving, decisive leadership, and disciplined project management.

The Results
The Terrace at Highland Lakes is now a well loved venue in the client's real-estate portfolio. The transformation has turned the event space into a highly utilized venue for weddings, family gatherings, and corporate meetings as well as serving as an efficient base of operations for the companies auxiliary services, such as Catering and Floral, that serve the 9 venues of the Hill Country region.
