Its irregular form, shaped by intentional variations in apartment sizes, establishes a visually distinct and engaging architectural presence within the vibrant neighborhood.

This is a commemorative place dedicated to Saint Cecilia, the patron saint of music. The main sanctuary space is shaped as a circle to represent the wholistic feeling of music and spirituality. The building houses practice rooms for musicians to utilize and a private apartment for guest musicians, pastors, or a resident caretaker.

Zora Neale Hurston is an author, researcher, playwright, and anthropologist who focused her time on the racial struggles of black Americans in the early 1900s. Mainly focusing on the repetition of book pages and the rigidity of book stacks, this retreat offers private spaces for Zora to work and live, while drawing inspiration from modern, coastal designs.
