Project details

This project involves the redesign of Elizabeth Brown Memorial Park so that it can still be used when it floods due to heavy rain. The goals of the project are to create usable space during heavy rain periods; enhance the space for town events, such as the yearly festival; and create a welcoming space for everyday use.

Goals And Objectives

  1. Providing a usable space during heavy rain periods

  • Creek expanded and raised lawn

  • Introduced a lot of vegetation to help with water absorption and filtration

2. Enhance the space for town events, such as the yearly Festival

  • Increased path circulation, expanded shelter and deck area

3. Create a welcoming space for everyday use

  • Improved shelter, expanded paths, Church St access, introduction of nature playgrounds
